The band program is going to NEW YORK CITY! This will occur next school year, March 31st—April 4th 2019 (Sun thru Thurs.), during the first part of spring break!  I have attached a trip itinerary to this packet as well as other information.  This is not a mandatory trip so if  you or your student does not want to attend, they do not have to, however, the more the merrier!

 

The total cost will be $1150 per person (students or chaperones) based on 40 participants. Any band student 6-12 is able to attend.  It will be great fun and the itinerary is filled with so many great opportunities!

 

I would like at least five chaperones to travel with us.  This is a great bunch of kids and I think it will be very fun and educational trip for them! Also, there are only 55 seats available, so this is a first come, first served basis. To reserve your spot, you simply need to make your first payment on time. (If there are open seats after the first payment, you can still join us!) Don’t forget that student account money may be used towards this trip. Any fundraisers we do will also go towards the student's band account which also can be used for this trip—the more fundraisers they partake in, the more money they can earn for New York!  If you are in need of another New York Information packet, please email me or log on to the band website http://cwicklund.wixsite.com/decaturbands to view and print another one.

1st Payment—March 20, 2018—$192

2nd Payment—May 20, 2018 —$192

3rd Payment—September 20, 2018 —$192

4th Payment—November 20, 2018—$192

5th Payment—January 20, 2019—$192

FINAL Payment—February 8, 2019—$190 (could be more/less based on final numbers)

 

Just a note: If only 30 people sign up to attend the price would be approximately $1331per person.  If more than 40 attend, it will be LESS than $1150 a person.

 

Please consider this trip!  The kids were quite excited when they found out about it! :)  I hope that many decide to participate.  Remember, the more that participate, the lower the cost and the less that participate, the higher the cost—we have to pay for the empty seats on the bus.  If there are fewer empty seats (more than 40) we pay less overall for the trip, if there are more empty seats (less than 40) we pay more for the trip.  You can pay at any time (early or a smidge late) as long as the balance is paid by the FINAL payment date. You can also join the trip after the first few payments are made if there are spots open—again, you just need to be paid in full by the FINAL PAYMENT.
